More autumnal photos

The first two were taken on a walk through a wood near Straiton (Ayrshire). The rest were taken today in Kinneil woods. It was a cracker of a day, as you can see!

Eighteen quid doon the swannie!!

Today I submitted two paintings to the Royal Scottish Academy open exhibition. It felt like I was in a posher version of the x-factor when we were all standing queued up with our paintings. Also everyone had their paintings all professionally packaged and bubble-wrapped etc. I had mine in a tesco bag...

I am looking forward to my first taste of rejection from the art world.

Old camping pics

I stumbled upon these old pics tonight so I thought I'd post them up here to try and halt the slow death of my blog. They're from a camping trip to Inveroran at the beginning of May 2012. It was the perfect time of year for camping in many ways: there were no midges, there was still a bit of snow on the hills, it wasn't too cold, there weren't many people about. I also took Parsnip for his first pint on this trip. He opted for water though.

I think he enjoyed his biscuit.

It was quite misty in the morning... which made for some good photos!

Masks

I appear to have gone a bit mental on ebay over the last few weeks and amassed a collection of African masks:

The big handsome fellow in the middle is my favourite. My girlfriend and my mum don't seem to like them.
